Significant Sig Robert D. Johnson, MIAMI (OHIO) 1969 Becomes Foundation Chair
April 27, 2015

EVANSTON, Illinois (April 27, 2015) — The Sigma Chi Foundation announced today that its Board of Governors has named Significant Sig Robert D. 'Bob' Johnson, MIAMI (OHIO) 1969, as Chairman effective immediately.

Johnson, a member of the Sigma Chi Foundation Board of Governors since 2012, has previously chaired the Foundation's Development committee and served on the Grant, Scholarship and Leadership, and Executive committees .

"Brother Johnson has made significant contributions to the Sigma Chi Foundation since he joined the board in 2012," said Sigma Chi Foundation President and CEO Greg Harbaugh, PURDUE 1978. "His insights and perspective have been extremely helpful to the Foundation. He brings decades of corporate leadership experience to the role of Chairman. With his help we will continue to lead the Greek world in providing both world-class leadership programs that address the relevant issues on campus and an ever-expanding scholarship program that recognizes outstanding scholarship and leadership. We are grateful for Bob's willingness to serve in this important role.'

"My strengths are collaboration and finding solutions," said Johnson. "Being in the Sigma Chi Foundation I have enjoyed working with some absolutely very talented people who give their time and in many instances also make generous donations in support of Sigma Chi. The chairmanship is an opportunity to make a difference and to work with people at the Foundation, on the Foundation board and within the Fraternity to see what the most pressing challenges are and how, collectively, we can address them for the benefit of our undergraduate brothers in a very challenging time."

A native of Zanesville, Ohio, Brother Johnson is retired Chairman of Honeywell Aerospace and served as CEO of Dubai Aerospace and CEO of AlliedSignal Aerospace. He is Chairman of Spirit Aerosystems, and serves on numerous corporate boards including Spirit Airlines, Inc., Roper Technologies, Elbit Systems of America, as well as the Arizona State University Foundation. He was named Significant Sig in 2002 and presently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona with his wife, Sabrina.

Johnson succeeds Significant Sig Timothy A. Michael, OHIO STATE 1970.
